The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.
This year will most likely become one of my favorites of the favorite!
1) This year marks Weston & my 5 year anniversary of dating!
2) This year we are having my Dad's 50th Birthday Party the weekend prior.
I have always wanted to sport a great pair of jorts over this holiday weekend.
After seeing this tutorial here I knew I could make my own.
I had some trial and error, as my jorts definitely did not turn out as
the tutorial did, however they will work just fine for the occasion!
Step One: Get a pair of jorts (I cut off an old pair of jeans that were
too big now anyways). Then place star stickers on one side, and
tape off stripes on the other side.
Step Two: Using fabric paint (I used fabric spray paint
for the blue, and fabric glitter paint for the red),
paint red between the stripes and blue all over the star stickers.
You will need to let it dry for at least 1-3 hours.
This is where I had some troubles.
My glitter red paint needed at least two coats, and the blue paint
wasn't as bright as I expected, partly because my jeans were
darker than the stone-washed ones in the tutorial. Because of this,
my star stickers didn't do much for holding the original jean color.
I bought some puffy paint, and plan on painting white starts on
top of the blue side.
Step Three: The outcome. Fourth of July Party Jorts.
