It's become a daily routine to check weather.com for the updated forecast (because you know that it can change every 0.5895023 seconds), and this past week and a half I've been jumping for joy when I see 70+ on the forecast. Warm weather means we the hubby is hard at work in the yard making our backyard a paradise. Let's not kid ourselves, I try to help but I usually rake and shovel a couple of piles and am done. I'm the certified weed-picker in this household.
We can't believe it's already been a whole year since we put the offer on our house, in a couple of months we'll have lived here an entire year... what??
The yard is what originally attracted us to our charmer home. We live on a lot and a half, and the backyard was full of natural flower gardens and grape vines. While we loved all the flowers, we also wanted some more grass space and a bigger yard, so last fall we the hubby went to work ripping out the flowers, along with some trees and bushes.
See before:
Yes, I know so the above photo looks amazing, but we aren't taking out all of it. Just the left side is dug up, and that is where we are planting grass for our fire pit and hammock hangout area.
Along our back line we ripped out some more tall grass, and the hubby is putting in an awesome raised garden. Fresh veggies here we come! (Please ignore all the dead grass/dirt, obvi we are still in a disaster zone under construction).
The dog was on the same page as me for all the work: more concerned about our suntans.
Happy 70 degree weather everybody!
